I realized recently that I've become a pretty negative person. I focus a lot on the bad, the hard, the ugly of life, and have a hard time seeing the good that's right in front of my face. And I'm suffering for it. I need a change.
So here's my idea. Thankful Thursdays. There really aren't any rules. I just want to make it a point to open my eyes and heart, to see all the ways God blesses me every day. And thank Him. So every Thursday I plan to post what I'm thanking God for that week.
To start, my goal is to write down, at the very least, one thing every day. Of course, more is better. :)
I would love for you to join me. If you have a blog, write up a post. I'll either figure out how to do a link-up, or just have you post a link in the comments. If you don't have a blog, just make your list! Pop in and let me know how it's going. I expect it to be encouraging and eye-opening.
Psalm 100
A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
Great idea Autumn! I'll try to remember to stop by on Thursdays :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be a part of this. Have you read 1000 Gifts?
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I feel like I can be pretty negative too. It's probably a good exercise to do this!
ReplyDelete<3 Sounds like a perfect thing to do - especially so close to Thanksgiving! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love taking time to be thankful! November is the perfect reminder :) and Psalm 100 is one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great and important exercise. My hubby and I each have a note pad that we write five things we're thankful for in every morning. It's a great way to make sure you start off the day feeling blessed and positive. I'm hosting a handbag giveaway on the blog today. If you get a sec, I'd love if you could enter. :) Thanks, love. xo
